 Tuttle Creek Lake, Clinton Lake ... they're deeper than 10 ft!
But true, in KS it doesn't matter if you're 1 ft below the surface or 10 ft - you can't even see your feet when you're in knee-deep...

I corrected that for ya ;) Man, I love KS!

How do you know about Kansas? Almost every lake or pond in Northeast Kansas is deeper than 10 feet, but that doesn't mean I am going to dive in them. You are right about the brown water thing...

I do like Kansas for the hunting, fishing, and the overall feel of nature. It doesn't hurt either that most of my family lives here and I grew up here:)

Hell, it doesn't even hurt the Kansas is the home of the NATIONAL CHAMPION Kansas Jayhawks!:headbang2

I just hate it because of the lack of super nice lfs and great deals on used equipment like socal and the west coast gets...

I don't know where you're located. If you're near KC: Mission Pets used to have a good selection when they were still on Johnson Dr. They moved a few blocks away I've heard, still setting up their fish section.
The store in the Great Mall of the Great Plains has great monsters, just watch their quality, it varies. Lawrence: Check out Pet World. They have a top selection, but you'll have to quarantine well.

Drop me a PM for more KS chat.

Sorry for the derail.;)
