im currently trying to com a silver and australian arowana. They r BOTH babies. Silver is about 4.5 inches and the aust. is about 4 inches in a 55 gallon tank. I wana raise them both together, a lot of ppl dont recommend it but i wana try it. I just put them in, they were fine for about 45 mins. But then they started doing circles around each other but very close. They BOTH attempted to take a bite outta each other but was unsucessful. Luckily i was prepared, so i separated them. And now im planning to release them wen they get a little bigger. I know that might NOT sound too good of an idea BUTT ima have to experiment and find out. I was hoping that since they're still young i can have them together but no they already started fighting...

i need sum opinions and recommendations please ;)

I don't see you ever having success with just 2 aros.Especially that combination. When you say planning on releasing?Care to be more specific.

oh releasing, meaning UNseparating them, letting them live together. yea i supposely had 2 more silvers but they died. . . . duno y they're babies though.

like ive said before in other threads it all depends on the individual fish... in this case i have seen more disasters than sucess... i known a few ppl on this site that have been able to acomplish what you are trying... so if you want to be sure for the safety of your fish.. keep them apart.. but if you have he money and time..(and are "willing") to go trought the fish you might be able to find a "docile jardi or silver

yeah i DO know i am taking a RISK as ive said. i dont see any success either but im going to try.

i did the same too but the 6 inch silver aro beat up the 3 inch australian aro, they both did the same thing. start with circles then after 2 hours my australian died, some of it's scales are gone and bleeding n the stomach.
But i did it again instead i bought a 3 inch silver and 3 inch australian in a 35G, it came out pretty well, they don't fight. they swim together. If you want to put them together, buy them at a very small age like babies and put them together at the same time. It will probably work. hehe

wow finally sumone that has experienced the same thing i did. lol ur crazy for doing it again and again. the problem is that i cant find them any smaller. This is pretty much the best i can do, the youngest i can get them. I think only way is to raise them til they're adults then try to put them together again?

a pair of adult fish will no cohab... only way is to raise them together. and chances are, it wont work out. go ahead n try anyway.
