any recommendations for silver & aust com??

majority says dont do it but i like my jar and silver to get along and swim side by side. i'll go to the petshop tomorrow and take lots of pics of silver and jar in the same tank. i saw a 15G tank with 12 silver and 6 jar, they get along fine. i'll take lots of pics and post it.

18 aros in a 15g course there getting along they cant move

the pics are gone because the owner separated them all. so the buyer can pick them and look at them.

My mate tried it lasted for a bout thirty seconds we even threw food in to distract them from each other they ended up getting angrier fighting for food highly doubt it will ever work would like to see pics if anyone was successful though.

If it was ever gonna work it still would be short lived once they get bigger the jar will end up trying to kill every thing around it and you will see world war three.

I dont know why you are posting up looking for opinions when you intend to go ahead against advice anyway. Why dont you put them together with a clear divider for a while at least?

The leichardi saratoga is much less aggressive if you have to do this.

i'll send you a pic of my 3 inch jar and 3 inch silver this friday. hehe so you will believe me. i just put them together last week. so its still not yet proven. They just play like, they bite each other but not intentional bite, just playing. if they really bite, there will be blood and scales missing. but none of that happen.

like ive said before in other threads it all depends on the individual fish... in this case i have seen more disasters than sucess... i known a few ppl on this site that have been able to acomplish what you are trying... so if you want to be sure for the safety of your fish.. keep them apart.. but if you have he money and time..(and are "willing") to go trought the fish you might be able to find a "docile jardi or silver

Im actually doing this and i have just started today with them my silver aro is about 5-6 inches and the jar is about 3-4 inches i did this to try to compensate for the jar's aggresion. theyve been in the tank for about 5 hours now and have not shown any sign of aggresion and have even done a few laps together. I know this means abosolutely nothing but atleast its a good sign and start. Im going to be watching them like a hawk for any signs of aggression or fighting. Im also considering putting in another silver but not sure just yet.

Isnt MFK about doing what is commonly thought of as not possible and helping each other find the way that works where we have been told it will not

I know this goes against what everyone says to do but so far i am succesful in keeping my jar and silver together. And they have shown no signs of aggesion towards each other the silver is now about 13 inches and they jar is about 9 inches Just me eyeballing them not exact measurements

So ive made it over the first hump of mixing them now when the jar hits 12 inches or so is when ill really find out if this will work long term.
