:screwy: all of you...just:screwy:
I don't mind spiders in an enclosure where I'm safe, but if you want to see a grown man dance like a fool and hear him shriek like a girl, let a spider crawl across my hand!:barf: Don't get me wrong, I think spiders are fascinating creatures and have no problem observing them in the wild, but.......

I was considering getting a T. Blondi but at the advice of others i am now considering a Salmon Pink Birdeater

I think it's amusing we've got these folks on here who don't have any problems handling large, potentially dangerous snakes, but don't want to have anything to do with spiders.

...I'm one of them. I don't hate spiders. I think they're pretty cool and I like looking at them, but I get nervous when there is no piece of glass or plastic separating me from a very large exotic spider.

I believe this is where the fear comes from. Fear of not having control of
the situation. I used to be terrified of spiders.

After having one as a pet in a lockable viv, and becoming comfortable with that, I attempted to handle it.

Then my fear gradually grew to fasination, and when I was ready, attempting to handle my pet spider LOL.
I went from not being able to handle a tiny house spider, to handling a massive, slightly agressive Chilean Rose. I went on to keep and (attempt) (LMAO) handling a Salmon Pink. Then I kept a Cobalt Blue. No chance of me handling that. The aggressive/nervousness I can handle. The speed? **** off!

I still crap one and scream and run whenever a largish house spider runs at me. Why? 'Cause I'm not in control of the situation, as you are a spider kept in an enclosure :)

Yep.
Likewise here the only inverts that make me nervous are centipedes and brown recluses.
But i would never attempt to handle either. I think thats why i didnt get bit by the BR when i had one.

LOL, that's just like me! if i'm in control it's fine, but if it's loose and it's fast... ohhhhhh heck no!

Best thing to do in that case is turn, scream, and run then! :headbang2
