when i have used meds like ickaway . I have dosed for 3 days. After 3 days I do a 25% waterchange and then dose the tank again. On the 6th day I do a 50% water change but still keep the temp up another couple of days. The bottle you have should have the directions on it.If you only dose once , i doubt you will rid your tank of it.This is why a lot of people keep getting outbreaks because they do not treat the ich longer than its life cycle.
On a side note I have never taken out my rocks, gravel or anything in my tanks for that matter and have never had a secondary outbreak.

I rarely use meds, only a temp of 86 deg F and aquarium salt. I keep plenty of loaches and if it works for them it works on just about all fish.

what should i do

Did the fish die?If so and you have no fish in the tank.Just don't stock it for a couple of weeks and keep the temp up.Ich needs a host to survive. You can strip the tank down, boil contents, disinfect the tank for a real quick fix but then you are back to square one with cycling the tank. Not worth it IMO.
If you moved the fish to another tank, you have now simply infected another tank and still need to treat. The longer you leave it to take action ,the heavier the losses will be.

P.S.In the future set up a smaller quarrantine tank and keep your new stock in there for atleast 2 weeks to make sure you don't infect your exhisting fish.
If you don't introduce ich to your tank you wont have an outbreak.( new fish, feeder fish and plants from lfs are the quickest way to infect a perfectly healthy tank.) If you notice ich in your your new quarrantine fish,It is easier to treat in a smaller tank.Do not use any equipment e.g gravel cleaner, hoses, nets, algae magnets or even allow your hands to go from the quarrantine tank to your other tanks.Keep seperate equipment for your quarrantine tank.:)
