ok i looked at some and im kinda leaning toward LED (I like the blueish hue to it) would this be the best for my money

Most likely yes, long term. Short term as I am sure you well know LED's are quite expensive, but you will save a lot of money in energy bills and bulb replacement costs. Also, they run cooler and should make your tank temperature easier to stabilize and maintain.

well thats great news! but bad news is that im going to have to wait until about july because im 14 a little down on money but luckily im getting a job in the summer that pays 200$ a week so then ill hav plenty of money to spend on fish

I have seen some LED fixtures on reef hobbyist sites that are reasonably priced. (At or cheaper than similar MH fixtures.)

I am a newbie to salt water too. A friend of mine gave me his 72 gallon bowfront aquarium. he had 2 HOB penguin 350, 2 of those kola jet things, a sea clone 100 protiein skimmer, a 300 watt heater and 2 buckets of live rocks. i have always had oscars and FW tanks. i have to clean the tank out before i set it up, it has a lot of red salt deposits on it. what is the best way to get the salt off of the tank. i have read that vinegar is good for it.

oh and he also gave me a nice light that has white lights and moon lights in it too. said he paid $500 for it

i have a 30g biocube and there is a skimmer small enough to fit in the back, and i would say to start off with some live rock (sand bottom) maybe a pair of chromis and a couple of of damsels that you like. you can even buy a clownfish, they arent too hard to keep.

Vinegar does work well. You can dilute it and soak it or you can just rub some on there. Glass scrapers work pretty well for getting most of it off then the vinegar can get the really small stuff.

also there is the red deposits on the rocks too, is it good to clean those off too? im wanting to make the tank "new" before i get it set up but dont know a whole lot about saltwater tanks.
