Anybody ever use black contact paper for the back of their tank?

Anybody ever use black contact paper for the back of their tank?

How well does it work? Any thoughts or suggestions??
 
hey gr8 why dont you just get like a couple peices of black poster board?
very cheap
 
I use black construction paper on the back of my 55. Here is a pic

It works fine and I think it looks just a good.
 
i want something that will not be warped or damaged by water...

im trying to look for alternatives to spraypaint.

very cheap and looks pretty good

i have some on my tank

Black contact paper will work fine if you can get all of the bubbles out. I know that when you get your windows tinted they spray something on the glass that keeps the film from sticking too much and allows them to squeegee the bubbles out. I forget what it was they used, but it wasn't anything special. I think it was fabric softener or salad dressing or something like that.
 
For my background, I got a peice of MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard), sprayed it ocean blue, then covered it with clear contact you use for school books. Works a treat.
 
It was 1 teaspoon baby shampoo and 2 quarts water.
