4200 gph is pretty good at 10'. 340 watts, that would be about 40 bucks a month for me. any oil in it? where is the fact sheet? what size tank u have?

this is a centrifugal pump..... should only have grease in the motor bearings..........nothing to oil ime

Thanks for the info
the tank which i will be building is a 1000 g sw plywood tank
i need one pump to return to the tank(return will be under sand jets) but and i also need one to run the filtration which starts with a 10inch diameter 4 ft tall fbf filter and then gravity feeds into bio tower and protein skimmer(all diy of course!!)
yeah so the company that sells the filter i will be basing myself on runs a 80-100 gpm pump on the fbf

ok does the return under the sand create much back pressure ???

how high will the water be lifted for the filter ??

also use pipe at least 1 or two sizes bigger than you are thinking about......... at 100 gpm i would feed with 2.5 or 3 inch and return with 2 or 2.5.....

this will help with energy costs as well as max the flow.

YES this is bigger than the fittings on the pump but it is the way to go.....

feeds should be max 5 feet per second and returns max at 10 feet per second....slower is better,
