I have a tale for you guys, sit down, relax, read,..... and DON'T FLAME!! Because this was before I learned the golden Do's and Dont's of fishkeeping.
Case 1: Approximately 7 years ago, when I was 8 and knew nothing of fishkeeping I released 2 plecos into my local pond after my entire tank died. In february when we had the mass die-off of fish due to the cold snap, I found about 15 plecos of various sizes ranging from 5" to almost 2' in length!
Case 2: Exactly a year ago, before I joined this site I got a 10g long for my birthday, I still knew very little about fish and thought of them all as just fish. I had an albino oscar in my tank and before long it outgrew the tank, (At the time I didn't know the actual name of the fish) Today I was fishing for bluegills, when I saw an un-earthly white glow rising up, it turned out to be my oscar and it was about 12-13". I repeatedly attempted to catch it with no luck, but it would rise up to take cichlid pellets, finally I hooked it and played it into the shallows but it broke my line! I will catch it one day!!

fairly typical of Florida, you can release just about anything down here and it's got a good chance of making it . . .

if you do catch the oscar, what are your plans?

its alrite

Everyone does dumb stuff when there young idc if your gr8 u still do

That's why so many fish are illegal to keep in Florida.

It could have been any oscar. I have heard they are quite common in FL. now-a-day.Plecos too.

Catch it! Try to net him when he comes up to the surface when you feed him pellets.

:duh:
