Stop defending yourself. No one is flaming you, but where were your parents? I know that when I was 8 my parents didn't just let me go putting pets into ponds. The point is, you did it. Period. Who cares if you were 8 or 39. You still did it. The way you wrote this you seem kind of proud to see this fish after you abandoned it in the beginning. If it's in a retention pond, just let him be. We don't want you putting him in a river next time where he may do some damage just because you can't keep him anymore.

The story really isn't that great. Sorry.

I'm not defending myself, I'm simply stating that this was an exciting opportunity to catch a fish that I released... I understand that what I did was wrong, but at the time I didn't know any better.. and don't bring my parents into this.... better yet why don't you just get off my thread as you aren't contributing in any way other than making yourself look like a jerk.. I really don't want to get this thread closed so stop making stupid remarks.

Not flaming would of consisted of "ya you shouldn't have done that." not what you said. Why do people insist on escalating threads into arguements?

Thanks for the backup man. And yeah, someday I hope to have a whole aquarium dedicated to non-native fish that I've caught in florida. haha

Yeah, if it's your fish cool, but there's no way to tell- retention pond or not. unless there is some mark that makes it recognizable.

What happens if you go back tomorrow, and you find 2 albino oscars?

And yeah, I come off as a jerk sometimes. big deal.
