Are you sure it is even gill curl? There was an inexperienced member here who cut his aro's gils thinking he was fixing the GC. Of course this was after posting pics and most responses from experienced members telling him it was NOT GC.

its very easy to reverse a minor case of gill curl.
poor water conditions are what cause gill curl and water changes are key.
severe cases of gill curl do require surgery, but to nail the problem at the root you must get the water quality back in check.
