Petco is great for buying cheap aquariums on sale, otherwise I stay far away.Anybody who worked/working at Petco would like to share experiences and job info?

Petco near me is actually a pretty interesting place. They’ve had 2ft plecos, bumblebee oscars, alligator gar, and once there was an African cichlids tank and I noticed there was a platinum fire tail in it listed as a albino peacock for like 4$If my math is correct, 10 minutes per live snail.
I've personally worked at another big box chain store similar to Petco. If you want to work there the training in aquatics will probably be minimal. You probably would know more about fish than most associates already working at Petco.

I swear. Pet smart is almost only good for their cheap fish, cheap plants and food and hilarious stories.
The one by me has healthy fish, better than any nearby petco.

Got to disagree with this. I find petco takes better care then most animals than most pet stores around me including pet smart. If you’ve seen petsmart reptiles you know what I mean. I’ve also seen some pretty awesome fish there. There’s some adoption fish currently which is 2 full grown cichlids 1 being a jewel cichlid. I’ve seen phantom plecos, these weird elephant nose fish I forget there name lmao. Rare discus and albino rainbow fish. I’ve also seen some pretty nuts salt water fish. Not to into them but know they were big, healthy and stunning. I knew the dog face puffer of course tho lol. The plants I can kinda agree with but personally I don’t have any place near me with good plants.
