Anyone breed Mice or rats For there pets???

I know people also feed their reptiles chicks and rabbits but for what you are looking to feed, I would say stick to mice. or order them (much less hassle)

I breed my own rats produce about 40 a month at the cost of $25-35, I have my custom rack and I gas, freeze and package surplus. I also sell locally. Its worth it for me, I save money breeding rats. I also feed a collection of 26, Boa/Pythons.

Also there are legal issues with African Soft Furred rats. You can't even own them in certain states, or get them.

not at all, so far afther i made the rack and set it up its been rather hassle free, i clean the tubs out once a week and enjoy it ,cant smell them unless its cleaning day.been great.

yea asf are illegal in cali but meh soo far with the 3 females and 1 male im producing about 35+ rats a month .i spend about 25 dollars a month on food and bedding . used ebay for the water bottles and its been good.

Screw water bottles, I use 5 gallon buckets...automation man its the next best thing. I maintain the colony once a week, clean sort and, kull. Water is 2 twice a week in the summer... LOL

I prob will do so inb the future but for now i dont mind he bottles, plus no risk of floods.
