Anyone do their WC without declorinator?

Or well water, if you have well water with suitable paramiters you can use that without declorinator as well.

I'm sure it depends somewhat on location. It also depends largely on the quantity and frequency of the water change. "dilution is the solution"

I do 1 gallon per hour, 24/7, very low stress for my fish. I would say up to 10% weekly water changes are fine. If you start doing more you may want to treat the water and/or age it in a open bucket.

I'm just having a little fun with these guys, no hard feelings lol There's no better complement, really, than to have a guy call you names because of a disagreement of opinions. It's kind of like having an on line opponent in a war game say you only won because you cheated.

Well thanks for your unscientific advice on what needs to be done. Science would say that even a 10% change needs to be dechlorinated or "aged". Interesting you asked for proof that you were sure you would not see, but dont even acknowledge it after it was shown to you. The EPA and universities around the country have dozens of studies outlining the affect of chlorine on fish and show that even in minute concentrations it begins to harm fish.

As for me I wont call you names; I am not even responding for your benefit it is clear you are proud of your ignorance. My replies are only to hopefully convince any others reading the dangers of not treating water supplies that have been treated with chlorine or chloramine (which in the US is anything that comes through your pipes at your house unless it is coming from a well).

Chlorine kills fish. anyone who says it doesn't is a bonehead. If your not using a dechlorinator and your fish aren't dying it's because there's no chlorine in your tap water. It's as simple as that.

My water has 0 chlorine and 0 cholrimines, but it does have illegal levels of radon and other crazy elements that I don't think prime gets rid of..

"Dont cheap on the insurance"....that's what my Grandpa always says. De-chlorinator is cheap insurance. Find other ways to be cheap, like making your own food.....
