Anyone do this- goPro

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I just ordered a waterproof case for my old (crappy) camera. Should be here on Wednesday.

So i was checking out Amazon and it seems the newer GoPro Hero 3 comes with quite a few freezing problems, and a battery that over-heats?

Might have to wait a while and see if they fix these problems before i run out and go buy one...

I've read a few spots where people have had a issues with their Gopro3s. Mine has worked pretty reliably for me so far. One time it shut down on me for no apparent reason, and the only 'consistent' issue I've had is that often the wireless hard button just does not seem to be able to shut the wireless off unless I shut off the wifi device (my phone) that was attached to the camera's network. A bit quirky, but not really impacting how well the camera works for me so far.

i gotta goprohero3 black edition. first thing i did was charged it and dunked it in my tank and took shots of a blue eyed pleco. had to bootleg rigged a plastic wand used for those windows blind and duct tape it onto the back of the gopro housing lol.. super rigged it. it was shot at 1440 stock in hd. i heard 2.7k cinema looks nice and 4k for some odd reason makes my lens feel real hot so i dont think i'll run that setting anytime soon. i also bought some wasabi brand batteries for 25 bucks which last longer than the stock battery. posting vids in a sec

hm youtube vids suck lol.. it downsized the quality of picture. ill take another soon in my frontosa setup in 2.7k cinema

So i guess its a little bit of luck of the draw kinda deal whether you get a working camera or a possibly wonky one for the hero3

well i got 6 of them, all work flawless, 5 for autocrossing and this for my fishes. honestly a white will be good enough or silver. i like to take high res pix so i went and bought the black edition x 6. there are updates too which fixes whatever bugs people were having. i bought mines at a best buy a week or 2 ago so those are fresh. another vid comming up

2.7k dont look good underwater but 1440 settings does. im sure anything lower will look good. youtube allows hd quality up to 1080 i believe. here goes another vid shot at 2.7k cinema

Fat Homer, all I can suggest to you is to buy one and see how it works for you. If it doesn't work...take it back, and try another brand. Pretty much that simple.

Loved the vids, Fatalxiceman. Nice to know I'm not the only one to toss his camera into the tank! :)
