Anyone do this- goPro

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Fat Homer, all I can suggest to you is to buy one and see how it works for you. If it doesn't work...take it back, and try another brand. Pretty much that simple.

Loved the vids, Fatalxiceman. Nice to know I'm not the only one to toss his camera into the tank! :)

Not that simple unfortunately, since i cant just walk into a store, test it and bring it home... Instead i have to order it online... So naturally if its messes up, it becomes a P.I.T.A

Hmmm. I may have to get one of these! Do you think they would work well in a snorkeling situation? Next summer I'd like to video the fish surrounding my brother's island. There are always big schools of tiny bass fry and I have been dying to catch them on camera!

I've seen a lot of videos where they used a gopro for snorkling/diving. Should work well.

Apologies as I didn't look at your info to realize that you were in Hong Kong. I can see where that would make it more difficult. I guess that your choice then becomes to either order a gopro and see if it works for you or not...or avoid that concern that you have and order something with reviews that you feel more comfortable with. For the folks here on MFK that have used one, it doesn't appear to have been problematical. I've seen the comments and reviews on other sites where folks have had issues...all you can do is make your choice based on the info you've got.

Yeah, might even go with the hero2 if worst comes to worst...

me personally these cameras came in working order. a hero2 will do the job, cheapest is the white version hero 3 that also does the job too. i have to figure out a way to rig up a pvc pipe as a stick so i can maneuver it better underwater without all that extra noise. will take more when i get a chance. i have 10 big bbg's in a 40 in murky water, will see how that fairs in quality. mfk members post more gopro vids!! love to see them

Here are some videos shot with my GoPro Hero with the standard housing. Think I´m going to buy a real underwaterhousing soon, should be better but it still works :)
