Anyone else feeding Purina Aquamax to their fishes?

I have been feeding my fishes with Purina Aquamax for about a year or so. All of my fishes are eating it. Fishes seem to be gaining some size and are healthy. The best thing I like about Purina is that it is very inexpensive. I am feeding Purina Largemouth which has 45 percent protein, 10 percent fat and 3-4 percent fiber.

Anyone else feeding Purina Aquamax?
 
Well, I do not have a college degree on nutrition so I do not know what I am reading. Basically I am going by how my fishes look and their growth.

You see, I am just a layman in terms of all these things that go into food. I do not get until details about what every single ingredient means.

So what I am doing is going by real world experience and seeing my fishes doing okay with this food. Is there better food available for fishes which is a lot more expensive. I belive so.

I just want to see if anyone else is feeding Purina.
 
I didn't even know that Purina made fish food. I looked it up and seems that their formulas are more designed as feed for fish farms and not for ornamental fish living in aquariums. It's not something that I would ever use. If you're happy with it because of the price, you could probably save even more money by buying fish pellets from a local feed store. The ingredients sound the same and this way you won't have to pay the extra money for having "Purina" written on the bag. I hope your fish continue to grow strong and healthy.
 
I bought a 40 pound bag of Purina Aquamax for $38 dollars plus some change. Can't beat the price. Even goldfish pellets are $11 for a 5 pound bag at Wal-Mart. I used to feed goldfish pellets since money is tight.

Actually from your own source beyond the first sentence:

Unprocessed feathers are high in CP, but are highly indigestible. The primary protein that is found associated with feathers is keratin, which contains a high amounts of cystine (approximately 10%) the cross-linking of cystine is why the CP fraction of feathers is highly indigestible. When moist heat is applied at elevated temperatures the cross linkages between the cystine's are cleaved and the CP becomes readily digestible. Normally feathers are processed by cooking them in a pressurized chamber at 30 to 45 pounds/square/inch for 30 to 60 minutes and the resultant CP digestibility will be in excess of 75 % and normally runs between 80 to 85 %.
 
This is why I am feedng the Purina Aquamax. Wardley Tropical Fish Flakes for tropical fishes have 45% protein, 10% fat, and 3% fiber. So when I feed the Purina stuff, they are getting the same type of nutrition in my view in terms of protein,fat, and fiber.
