I do find it messed up but remember who we are talking about. This is a gov group that is charging a family millions upon millions of taxes for a sculpture they inherited. They valued it at 29 million. Problem is the value is actually 0. It has a bald eagle and cant be legally sold. They have already paid hundreds of millions in taxes on the inherited collection.

I think olympians deserve more than they get. They give up majority of their child, teen, and young adult lives to training. Some have to move away from family and friends. Seems like a serious career move to me, but they aren't getting paid like they are working. If we pay professional sports players millions they deserve something.

that's your own fault for choosing to specialize in the wrong sport. there's so much endorsement money to be made. phelps career earning was already 5 mil plus in endorsements IN HIS TEENS. that's before they knew he was going to win 20+ medals.

nothing wrong with taxing earned income..and thats what it is.... it would be messed up if they DIDNT have to pay it..and the reason they might have to pay up to 35%is thats the tax bracket they are in.almost all olympic atheletes are pretty well off after collecting training expenses ...not a food stamp recipient in the crowd
