hey, I work at Petsmart but I'm not an idiot or incompetant. However a customer asked one of my fellow associates if I had a bug up my @$$ because I cut in on their conversation about putting goldfish and bowls. I also had to cut off another employee because all of her experience was with Bettas and bowls.
 
i never just give my opinion in lfs's i would only do it when i am asked.
actually i would only offer my opinion to 1 lfs in my area as i have done so with others and they took no notice and i was right.

Thats just effin disgusting.................when all your trying to do is help (not your shift.....so volunteering!!!) and the haters are out in packs!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey bro at least you can sleep well at night knowing that there is at least (one or more........ insert your favorite monster fish(s)..) not stuck in a 5 -10 gallon, living in it's own crap!!!
 
Sure Ill let the staff know when thier cories are misidentified.
The staff at the few stores I frequent are pretty knowlegeable
 
they think i am crazy at my lfs i go in there with a magnifying glass, to inspect all the swimmers that i may buy ..i can be lost in there for hours on end they don't even bother to ask me if i need help ,they wait for me to come to them and many times i grab a net and a bag and get my own.. pisses them off

Haha thanks Matt, yea it get pretty frustrated. Last week I was standing by the fish wall with a coworker and I said to her "Do you have any idea how big these fish get and what size tanks they need" and she said "no" and she has only been working there for oh...3 months.

Yea, it's kinda crazy how someone doesn't even ask questions when they don't know. Thats what I miss now that our old supervisor is gone, when we weren't talking fish with customers, we were talking fish with each other. Our new supervisor decided to cut in on a conversation I had with a customer on the difference between African and SA/CA cichlids. All she did was come over, cut me off and say "Umm African's like a different pH" Hahahahahahahah :ROFL:
Like that day had me soooo pissed.

Both of those stored happened last week, same day.
 
yep all the time, thats how i got my job, now im scared to do it, just incase im wrong lol, i still do it tho :D
 
At our local Petsmart, I saw a couple carrying one of those crappy 5gal. aquarium kits, a net, and a bag full of angelfish to the checkout as my girlfriend and I were entering the store. I didn't say anything to them, but I told my girl that "they are going to need that net to scoop out dead angelfish in a few days". I think the lady carrying the fish heard me, because she turned and looked at me. :grinno:
