I have this normal Kribensis that somehow grew to about 5 inches long and is hyper aggressive. This thing even chases my Rainbow Shark. So here's where I put him for now.IMG_20190517_063228926.jpg
Anyone else have an experience like this with a fish that should be peaceful? Let me know if you have.

I had a pearsei that i thought would have been on the mild side. But turned into a nightmare. I had to rehome more fish than i could remember because of his antics. It was worth it though he was a great fish

My second blue gourami turned out to be an absolute nightmare.

Every single angelfish I’ve ever had has been an aggressive SOAB, and not even like expected aggression levels like terrorizing parrotxflowerhorn hybrids and a full grown Oscar aggression levels lol

Is this what you have? Sounds like it's not a Pelvichromis pulcher or kribensis that you usually see.

I always chuckle when i see pink gouramis at stores labeled as peaceful community fish. ime they are indiscriminate killers and try to eat anything that can partly fit in their mouth.
+1 for gourami being killers! Had a red tail gourami that was terrorizing my tank for a while.

I also had a lone turquoise rainbow fish with small Bala Sharks and it would wait until they grouped together, then torpedo toward the shoal and send the balas into a frenzy, darting all over the tank.

What size tank is it in?
I find that tank size (or lack thereof) is almost always the main factor in aggression.
I have just the opposite opinion as tlindsey (respectfully), I don't see any cichlid as aggressive, but if it is, its in the wrong size tank.
An example I've read tons of posts about how mean festae are, I combined them with many other cichlids in my tanks, and never had a problem.
