I have these on my eheim classic 2215. Seems like every other time I take the filter out for cleaning when I go to put it back together it drips water at the center part where the female and male parts connect :nilly: Im getting really frustrated I ordered a new one and it worked fine for 3 water changes now this new one is leaking .

Ive tried petroleum jelly on the rubber gasket , I also don't over tighten.

Is this a common problem any help or suggestions folks ?

Anyone? I can't really let this filter go to waste because of this leak it is my most matured bio filter on the tank :(

I dont have any issues mate. I have the size up from your filter. Cant member exact model number. I would imagine that particular part is the exact same though. Going strong for 6months now. Then again I dont really take that bit apart. Just rush hose water through it really.

I've been using them for years and never had a leak. I'm guessing you don't know your own strength there hercules. Spending too much time in the gym getting ready for your television debut. :p

all I have is Ehiem 6 matterof fact it is the only Canister Filter I use for over 23 years. never had a problem with any thing.

have not had any problems with mine and i take mine apart, make sure there is nothing on that o ring to create a leak. petroleum jelly will not help to seal it.

no problem with mine too. I have 2 2217's and both of them has that quick connect thingy without the drippy

Damn im an out cast :( Thanks guys it must be something im doing. :) ID like to think low cell is right haha. Im gonna go check on it.... its dripping slowly in a bucket

yup it dropped a cup of water over night and half the day.... Ordering new double taps :( maybe ill have my girl install them :P I am on crutches after all.
