roof top garden.. love to see it if you have a pic.... sounds nice

ive got an 80 yr old house, so EVERYTHING needs replacing, which im slowly but surely doing, yet as soon as i fix something, either it or something new breaks all over.

for example, i spent THOUSANDS installing a porcelin tile floor, with brand new sub-flooring all through my living room and dining room 5 years ago. and thanks to this old house settling and moving constantly still, i have atleast 15-20 tiles that are cracking and broken. I was a floor mechanic by trade, and have installed hundreds of thousands of tiles at this point, so i KNOW it wasent my installation skills.

im also slowly gutting every room in the house, to get rid of the old blown in insulation thats rotting away, and the blown in cement walls that you cant hang a god forsaken thing into.

the funnest thing so far: installing a solid wood floor in my attic (my bedroom) when the floor dips, curves, raises, falls, bends and every other possible thing it can.

For this weekend:

1. Final touch up on drywall in main room of basement
2. Run plumbing for/in the bathroom.
3. Drywall bathroom
4. Finish drywall in bathroom
5. Prime all finished surfaces
6. Paint all the walls
7. Move tanks
8. Setup new 125
9. ...... the list goes on......

My house was probably built around 1860 or so, so Im ALWAYS doing new project on it, next big thing will be rebuilding everything on the 2nd floor, remove everything that is old and ugly and wrongly built and replace it.

you have to love these old houses though.. they take it all and they are still standing.. so many of them they cannot even come close to duplicating ... so much wood work and detail... my farm house was like that upstairs.. it totally sloped.... the walls had some cracking through the old wallboard.. before we had all the wall board replaced..i spackled and designed it rough.. then painted.. looked great.. sorry about your tiles.. now that would hurt..
