It would be awesome to build one and not have to worry about cleaning your glass ever again. I know outdoor pools have automated pool cleaner. I'm just tired of scraping my 500 G tank few times a week. I'd have to climb a ladder, stick in my scrapper and go at it for 5-10 mins each time.

You should invest in an magnet cleaner. They work wonders.

used to be a pool boy haha but...

These require additional pumps, controlers, cords or tubing, dont only clean sides (especialy not 90 degree walls), and dont "scrape" the bottom

if you were to come up with a design, i would steer clear of the pool cleaner design.

BTW, why do you have the problem in the first place? IMO try to fix the issue "naturally" using algae eating fish, additional filtration, or build an algae scrubber

Plecos clean algae but produce crap.
Thats when filter and waterchange do the work!

yep i agree they do work great! but i only use that for the 55g cause my royal pleco is lazy. it seems to eat the algae wafers only. ive only seen him on the aquarium glass once out of the 2 years ive had him.
