Anyone Ever Bred any of these African Malawi Cichlids?!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Jalo reef are rare? Huh. Been using them as feeders. The females are definately dull brown but can take on a slight blue tint when spawning. The dominant male is stunning though.

I've bred the cobue, white tops, aulonocara maleri, and chailosi. All of those are pretty easy to breed and I usually have ended up with more fry than I knew what to do with. Thanks for the comments on the johnstoni. Honestly, I think they look a lot better in person than in any picture if have taken thus far. And thanks for the nice comments Mike.

so I'm definitely set on pickin up Mikes amazing Johnstonis and may be getting some of his membes as well. Anyone know if I can have two breeding groups of Placidochromis coexist fine together in a 125gal: I wanna put the Johnstoni in w/ my Phenochilus Tanzania.

Funny you should ask. I have the johnstoni in a 125 gallon with a group of phenochilus right now, and they get along just fine.

anyone ever bred fossochromis rostratus....a guy in Indy is selling a trio of them 1male 2 females 4-5". I've heard that you can't sex them until 7-8" because subdom males look like females and they don't sexually mature until they reach around 7inches.
