Anyone ever keep a Hong Kong pleco?

meds become concentrated in algae and so any fish that then eats the algae DIE/ are poisoned, so you cant really use meds with algea eaters, esp. panaques

If you do use meds, use them very lightly, and feed plecos extensively before hand.
 
Perhaps that was it, I think I may have treated for algae a while back.
 
If you treated to kill off the algae, the plecos probably took a pretty considerable hit from it.

A considerable hit? They're dead. That's like saying Kurt Cobain took a considerable hit from the shot gun he had pressed against his chin. LOL
 
exactly. Keep in mind that when you kill algae, anything that has that for a primary source of food will often die, or become very sick.
 
The algae definitely didn't die, but I bet the meds killed my HS loaches.
