Alright Jeep guys here's my question: Why do Grand Cherokee ZJ's have Coil Springs but not Leaf Springs?

They put coil springs in the zj to improve ride quality. It is all about supply and demand. Now adays, more and more soccer moms are buying jeeps and suv's, so manufacturers are aiming to please the majority. With the softer suspension of the zj, mom can get to soccer practice without rattling Little Jimmie's teeth out.;)

nice sig, at2!

i used to be into wheeling, but i kinda quit after developing new hobbies. still have the old truck, though...79 blazer w/ 4" lift and 35's and blah blah blah that i got when i was 17.

Thats ok, I've been un-softing the suspension with Rancho Shocks and [SIZE=-1]Daystar Polyurethane Bushings among other things! :D

I though leaf springs were to help with weight from things loaded in the truck end?

Possibly?

I don't think coil springs are a hinder though with the amount of buggys that are made out of GC's..
