anyone into 4wheelin???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Amen to the mud - but mud is what stops you every time. It's the only thing that stops my Cherokee. Once the mud reaches the axles, you are stuck!
Any good offroad spots in New England? (FrnchJeep?)

Vicious - don't know about the 5.2, but the 4.0 in my Cherokee has 235,000 miles and still takes me where I need to go - on or off road. Plan on having it a LONG time lol

i wish my car was able to go off road, my next vehicle will be 4x4 for sure! i love going with my friends

My wife's dad has her old '93 Grand Cherokee with over 200,000 miles and it still runs like a champ. The 4.0L inline six is/was a great engine. My Jeep's 318 c.i. engine has been around for a long time. It's a strong, reliable engine that was replace with more gas efficient engines like the Chrysler 4.7L V8.

Be careful with putting a lift on your 4x4. stick with a high quality (high dollar) kit and limit it to the bare minimum. You don't honestly gain very much ground clearance with lift kits because the axles don't move all that much and you severly reduce the side hill (an on road) stability. A much better upgrade is a matched lower gear set with rear lockers. FT lockers are nice but are VERY difficult to control and rarely ever needed.
