I totally stand behind powerlifting if you want to get strong. bodybuilding and powerlifting have different goals and some benefits overlap. but nothing gets you strong like powerlifting routines. i was big into hypertrophy routines when i was in my teens. I was able to work up to deadlifting 400 Lbs. 3 times by the time I was 15 thanks to dr. squats powerlifting hypertrophy routine.

yep totally agree, they overlap sometimes but are totally different at the same time. i started out as a powerlifting then i wanted to bodybuild but ive worked hard on retaining strength and growing at the same time. i guess u could say im a bit of weightlifting mutt lol

I can't bench my wife cause i'll brake my back.;)

you are way to tiny to post in this thread.. me on the other hand.. I'm 6.4', 154lbs and CAN bench my girlfriend..

btw.. I was watching some of the really big boys of body building.. what is your opinion.. is it even possible to "reach" those sizes without any enhancing drugs.. I mean, I have friends who build as in not having had firm poop for years and going to the gym to exercise muscles I have never heard of and sure they are big and strong, some of them doing biceps with weights weighing almost as much as me but they just look nothing like that.. I'm not against it (I believe all world records must be disqualified if there weren't for roids/other drugs) so I won't start fuzzing about it I just want a somewhat proffessional opinion..

i got back in to the weights early this year in april after a 20 year lay off and it will take me another full year to get back to a decent size but i'm not doing to bad at the moment. i'm only benching 200 at the moment working my way up as i'm getting on a bit now.

that all depends really certain sizes are attainable for some people but for most people to reach those sizes its gonna take some kind of gear.On the other hand there are those genetic freaks that muscle building and strength jus come naturally. ur genetics has alot to do with it and how much time u decide to put in to it. You halfta remember lifting and bodybuilding is those guys life, not only does it reflect there time in the gym but outside with what they do,how much they sleep, and def affects there social lives "drinking" and goin out and stuff. but for a straight forward answer, to get to the sizes of Ronnie Coleman, Jay Cutler, Branch Warren, jus to name a few, is yes u would need some type of gear.
