Lates are all over the world the most of them are from Africa. Lates Calrifer is from Australia and Lates Japonicus is from Japan.

Same as how Snakeheads "CHANNA are found in Asia and Africa

all of them are under the species Lates. Barramundi is what australians call it as a common name.... even Jardini is labelled as Barramundi...
