Milky Way Galaxy,
Seriously thinking about one something to do over the summer. Maybe get it as a chick or an egg. How'd one go about keeping one? Is it really that hard? I'd have a pond for him and a little dog house prob and try to get a heated Matt for him when it gets chilly out. What would the food be/??? When go to the park I feed the ducks bread but i kno they can't eat that all the time lol all suggestions welcomed.

I had a pet duck when I was younger. Fun pet. prettty easy aswell. I kept him in a cage made of 2x4's an chicken wire. good luck.

What did you Feed him? I dont have duck or geese stores around me to get the premade stuff. And is there a way to train them. Like at night I want to put them in a heated shed.

My step mom used to raise ducks to eat. She fed them ground up lettuce and worms and they were kept in a hardware cloth pen outside. They also got very friendly after a while and would follow you around. Not much to it really.

My mom kept them years ago, and my boss has some. They are alot of fun when their young!! make cool pets

It will probably graze through your grass all day, but you could always buy various worms from the LFS and possibly small beetles. I wouldn't be a bad idea to serve it as a salad with some mixed greens and dandelions.

Never had a duck but I have had a goose for a short time.

Ok, I'll be the one to do it.... you said thinking about one cause it will give you something to do over the summer.... you do realize that it will last longer than the summer right? It's not like you can just raise it up and forget it..you will need to care for it for the rest of it's life. They aren't hard to keep and they are very fun and cute but there are still tons of ducks and chickens that are just forgotten after the chick phase, granted this happens a lot around easter..... Just want to be sure your thinking it all the way through

On a completely seperate note... does anyone else have a white reply box where the text is showing up white??? it's REALLY annoying......
