Anyone know anything about sumps?

Shrug, pull off the hose and check for obstruction on the elbow of the pipe. Are you getting a loud sucking sound from the overflow? The design doesn't allow air into the pipe except for from the front, the downward flow of the water through the pipe will bring air with it. Might be causing a vacuum effect in the pipe restricting the flow even when finally fully submerged because air cannot escapte properly. If you put a T fitting on the back of the overflow with a hole drilled in the top you may find you get much better results.

i dont5 see how it would trickle in the pic you can see its sucking air and water if wate was above the overflow it would just suck water and flow aroud 250GPH

All i can say is that in my tank the return to tank is 1"(under pressure from the pump) and into sump is 2 x much larger than 1"(free flowing)
Big into filter, small return.
If you were to add 10ltr of water into your tank were dose it go? tank or filter?

take it all apart and start over....have ya lost any small fish lately??????

I might try the T fitting idea. I don't know what else to try. It seems like the overflow is just taking in too much air or something...

Exactly what I'm saying. Is this not how most people would set up a tank with a bulkhead and sump?

I thought I had it all right..

YOUR RIGHT YOU NEED TO fill your tank an inch above your bulkhead and try that!

If I fill it to 1" above the bulkhead, the water still trickles down the tube.
That's my problem

You've got something blocking the water flow. Take the overflow line off and wee what's in there.
