I've never seen a snake that was kept in water before...?
 
I think its a fresh water moray eel
 
it might be an elephant trunk snake like this one:

*edit* Could be A. granulatus like Chris mentioned, but I've only heard of A. arafurae in the trade. Chersydrus is an old name for this genus.
