to me it looks like bad heater burn, now the dead layer is coming off.
is ur heater verticle?

Yes the heater is verticle. That's the way i found best doing reserch befrore purchasing.. If it as heater burn you would think there would be no blood? Because the heat would allmost burn the wound shut.. If you know what i'm trying to say.

I would have to say this is the closest to what I say happened. The rays are new and young and startle easier than once established. Whether it was the other ray or someone or something walking by the tank etc it probably took off and grabbed the filter or maybe even the heater but to grab and tear it not burn it... Either take general filter pad that is "soft" and make sure its very porous and wrap it around and use a rubberband or just stuff a cylinder prefilter over it like a mag pump comes with.. you get the idea. if it still eats it will heal and heal faster than you think but may leave some scarring worst case but hell scars give anything characterfastfreddy;2623754; said:

i know nothing about stealth, are they not suppose to burn rays??
I could see a burn more than i could see it swim into a filter overflow and cause that much damage. Unless it was razr sharp or something. I really do not know it is just a guess..

Thanks for the input bro. As long as it heals i'll be very happy. Just want some experiance with Ray's before i go large. But still really want to grow these out. Hopefully i can save Her!
ouch man, does the tank have a horizontal bar? if it does put the heater on that hanging by its cord to make sure im sure she will be fine but they can suction themselves to the glass so it could be heater burn thats what it looks like to me
