Anyone know what's wrong with this pup?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Its funny with MOST rays when they are new to you they are more shy, will tend to bury themselves in substrate if there is any if they are spooked even a little etc Give any ray a little time and you approaching the tank makes them more playful and ready to eat right up against the glass, not looking to hide the least bit. Part of what makes them great too. She will most likely be ok. just keep up your routine and it should be fine...

i know nothing about stealth, are they not suppose to burn rays??

I could see a burn more than i could see it swim into a filter overflow and cause that much damage. Unless it was razr sharp or something. I really do not know it is just a guess..

either way it will heal very quickly if it is still eating.

stealths burn too...

Thanks guy's for all the help! btw Man thats a TON of salt! lol ( I did add it)

cap happens.... best to learn on a cheap motoro than a expensive leo ;)

It could be heater burn, but my money is on the ac intakes. They come to an almost point.
Keep up the salt and watch for infections. Should heal OK, maybe a little scarring.

She is healing very nice! I'm useing Salt Melafix Pimafix combo. And the results are very nice.. I'll throw some pic's up tonight.. thanks for all the help ect..

heater burn no filter done that

ALL ray tanks need a heater guard its as important as a filter

its a unnecessary risk why take it

it should heal up but may leave a scar

if the ray is eating it should be OK a lot of rays stop eating and die from shock after a heater burn

I use a smart heater that attaches to the pick up tube on my XP3 filter. Even when on the heater is cool to the touch. It also keeps the tank temp. within a couple of degrees and flashes if the temp is out of range (such as after a power outage). I recommend them.
