Anyone know where to get cheap big tanks?

Just tell your parents what you probably end up with having pacus in 1/4 inch glass tanks...a busted tank and a whole lot of water on the floor. I'm sure your parents will compromise.

whats the most you're willing to spend?
glass or acrylic?
stand and canopy or no stand and canopy?
sump required or do you have your own filtration?

and cheap is relative.
I mean cheap compared to the $4000 my lfs wants

why dont you just build one (>.>) i built my 45G and it only cost me 55$ i built stand and tank. had some what of the tools and wood bet you your paps has the tools.
