I live in Terre Haute Indiana and was wondering if any one knows of any lfs that regularly carry stingrays or discus in Indiana? I can order them from my lfs but once I order them its kind of done deal because they don't house them and I would like to be able to see them first. Thanks for the help!:grinno:

Are there any members in INDIANA? They are forming a cult and are taking over the forum! LOL

terre haute... really?

wow thats where I am from LOL

I am sure you ahve checked, but have you been to Atlantis on the north end of town? I don't even know if they are still open honestly, I haven't been there in years because I go to college at IU and live there now. I thought i have seen discus in the past there.

Also, I KNOW pet food center in front of the mall can order or have freshwater string rays. I have had 3 friends work there (2 in the fish department) and that store can order all types of weird ****. Both of my friends ordered freshwater stringrays from there, btu they couldn't keep them alive. Petfood center had a big one on display there with an arowana, but I think when the power went off there it killed them both.

IDK if pet barn on margaret is still open (I think it closed) btu they always had a wide range of weird fish there... stuff you wouldn't normally see in a big chain store. I think they closed down though.

EDIT: just saw the part where you said you can order... ooops... disregard that part of my aside then

anyone from indiana?

lol, i've thought about buying my parents old house in valpo just so i can become part of the midwest clique and pickup a few FW stingrays...

No way! Who do know from pfc?? I worked there for 5 years I was the asst manager! I loved working there but I got a job at the hospital that pays way better. My Motoro I have now I ordered through them but it make me nervous cause if I don't like them they usually just die cause they aren't very experienced with rays so I feel obligated to buy them. Atlantis is still open and moved into an awsome new store right across the street from where they used to be. Since they are in a new store they don't have many discus in stock yet. Crazy I didn't think anyone on here was from TH.

Oh yeah and the arowanna did die when the power went out he was like 5 or 6. :-( And the big ray was mine if it has been recently. I was incredibly stupid and used the wrong sand in my tank so I took him in there for like a week untill I changed out the sand...which sucked!

I thought Atlantis was moving... I just haven't had time to check it out (it is WAY up north for me... and gas is expensive). Probably go check it out this weekend.

I knew Joe, Ross, and Josh (and his sister), and knew the red head a little (christina maybe?). That arowana that died was actually Joe's before he gave it too them.

Does anyone at PFC even know anythign in the fish section anymore?

small world eh....

Yeah Joe traded it to pfc then Mike aka fishboy, bought it and had it for a few years then brought it back when he moved. Mike was always the kind of main fish dept. person but he got another job that pays more just like everyone else so it kind of sucks now. Most of the people there know basic stuff but not too much more. I talk to Josh's sister all of the time and Christina. Iwent to high school with all of them Josh and Joe were in the same class as me. What is your name? Small world.:nilly:

Ooops, I left Ross out :grinno: He was also in the same class as all of us. They all worked there right around the time when I started.

theres two places in avon where you might want to look, Specks Pet Supply usually has discus and theyre usually pretty nice, and Safari gets stingrays in every now and then
