I was talking to frnchjeep the other day about jeeps and we decided it was time to "bump" this thread. :D

So lets see those 4x4 drive vehicles folks!

A 2 year old thread?? :WHOA:

Nice! Its back. I'll post some pics when I get home tonight.

I went off-road on accident once. PT Cruisers are not meant for anything but pavement.

She doesn't drive any more. Sadly, the abomination is mine. I only have it because of the storage capabilities. I'll be getting something better and more attractive soon, and hopefully sportier. This thing has a wider turning circle than a Lincoln.

BUMP! There has to be more off roaders in here. Here is a pic of my cherokee. Sorry for the crappy driveway/ cellphone pic. I'll try to get some action shots soon with a real camera.

Look'n good! I have a friend who has a very similar Cherokee. So what size lift is that? Like I was telling you, I put XJ sway bar links on my ZJ two weekends ago and they are really working out well. They're more beefy then the stock ZJ ones. I'm hoping this weekend to finish replacing my track bar bushings.

I too have a crappy driveway pic my friend took this spring. I don't have any other off-roading pics because I'm the one doing the driving, lol! I'll have to get someone to take some pics the next time I'm out.

And you're right, I know there are more people out there that off-road.

Haven't been offroading in years, but just purchased an XJ last week. will need new tires soon in the front, so perfect time to add a little altitude. Already got the build all figured out, starting with a 4.5 inch, and then later on swap to long arms and go up two more inches. Will post some picks later, but its 99% stock right now so nothing special to look at.

Yeah, thats why I dont have any action shots either. hahha Your track bar has bushings at each end? I just upgraded to the rough country trac bar that has that style. My stock one had a ball joint at the top end that was restricts the front suspension travel quite a bit when the jeep is lifted. The new one made a huge difference, and it is adjustable. When you do yours, use the urethane ones. It makes a huge difference. Urethane is usually noisier though. There is a way to make a DIY swaybar disconnect. You should look into it. Really improves the off road articulation. Check out the first part of this article (ignore the extension part). http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/Suspension_Steering_Axles_and_Brakes/Homemade_Swaybar_Discos.htm

Thats VERY similar to what I did with mine. I have the 4.5 rough country lift. I also had the adjustable RC control arms. I was cruising down the highway a few months ago, and an a-hole in a lexus jacked on the brakes to try to get me to hit him. I had to swerve hard to miss him, and when I did the rear end broke loose (at highway speed). I was VERY lucky not to roll it, it really felt like it wanted to go over, or hit any other cars ( it was morning rush hour), but I did end up hitting a concrete retaining wall with the right front. You can see the odd colored fender in the pic. Excluding all the body damage, I bent the trac bar, tie rods, axle housing, and the body where the control arms bolt on. I also broke the RF knuckle and bent the RF rim. The RC adjustable control arms are beasts! Even though the wreak ripped the RF lower arm off at both ends, all the arms stayed straight as an arrow. I bought a parts jeep for $200 with good axles. I made my own long arm kit using the RC arms, bought the upgraded trac bar, swapped the axles, new rim etc.

I would highly recommend doing the long arms asap, if not at the same time as the lift. With that much lift, you are really maxing out the tolerances of what the stock arms can handle. It dosent make for a fun ride on the highway with the arms on that kind of an angle. With the long arms, though, mine drives better than my wifes stock xj. haha
