you can keep them all on.. just smash the barbs so removal of the hooks is alot easier.. :D

but i guess you would still run into the problem of the trebs jabbing the fish..

i would think removing the middle set would be better.. its usually the middle set that gets caught on exterior parts of the mouth/fish..

Exactly on 2 lures will remove the middle try one with barbless hook other as in pic with treble see how balance goes but atleast no more face hooking .

put the center one back on and take the back one off. They usually get hooked in the face by the back treble.

if your a fisherman, just leave all the hooks on and smash the barbs down as as said before. your better of to land the fish with all the hooks then to remove them cuz if you lose fish your hurting them more then the treble hooks are. put it this way with all the hooks you get a firm hook set and lose less fish. but with a hook removed your more likly to hook a fish and cuz the lure can twist and move easyer get riped and torced out of there mouth causeing the fish more pain. so get some guts and get used to removeing the hooks from there face or hurt them even worse

When I was fishing in Alaska, I was catching a ton of trout, but didn't want to keep them. I was using inline spinners and spoons with a single treble hook on them. At first, I just snapped the barbs off the hooks, but I was still getting them swallowing the trebles and killing the fish, so I took the treble, and cut two of the hooks off the treble. I still caught the same number of fish, I was just hurting them less. It didn't appear to mess up the balance of the lure at all.

Take some needle nose pliers and squeeze the barbs back to the "body" of the hook, I do this and honestly it makes hook removal so effortless as opposed to wrenching the barb back out the wrong way and leaving a gaping hole in the flesh of the fish... if the fish hit's the lure pictured missing that front treble hook you will almost certainly wind up with that hook somewhere in the eye area and still have the same issue with hook removal with the barbs still intact...

Yes I squeezed the barbs on the treble hooks that am using on rear of lure.

I removed the treble off one lure going with just 1 hook.

Ive replaced trebles with sigle barbles and If I was going to take one of them off I would leave the one in teh rear

 lol
I don't agree with more hooks are "better" as far as not hurting fish because you get a better grip.

Yes you get a better grip but the fish get hooked in face, etc when no need for it.

I do agree with flattening the barbs.

with all the hooks the lure can not be turned, thrown or move as easy, with less hooks it can be turned and ripped out of the fishs mouth, leaving long gashs or towrn lip.
