How can you question these posts when most of them were just disgusted at watching a young sought after admired respected Arow ..{top of the food chain }suffer..for no reason except to make a snuff film..

I can understand where both sides are coming from, when I first saw that video it made me feel ill, its animal cruelty and the guy should be punished. I don't get how anyone could treat any fish like that.

This is exactly what delgado is saying, why does it matter if it is an Aro or a goldfish, what, just cause you guy like aros more. Does this mean Goldfish can't fell pain, don't they fell pain like an arowana does, doesn't it hurt them to get rippped apart slowly by a school of P's, I guess not, just cause aro's are "cooler". Goldfish also hold a high place in Asian culture along with the arowana, they are equally special in thier own ways.

This is way I quote you Red Devil, not to single you out but it proves a point. How does a fishes position on the foodchain deceide if it can be ripped to shreads or not, it doesn't. Also, if you are getting eaten, wether an Aro or a human, you are lower on the foodchain at that moment in time then what ever is eatting you. Arowanas aren't top either, I would imagine a school of P's in the wild would be on top of an aro, and everything is below us. We are the only spieces in the world capable of causing the extinction of an other.

To all those who have said P's suck due to this, although you may not like P's it is the human mentaility that sucks not the fish. For all those who have said its cruel to feed an aro to P's, (I know it was cruel and slow) have you every fed your aro live feeders. To all those who said that the guy should be punished in one extreme or another, I agree, and the punishment should be through the law.

I feel that I can disagree with this video because 1 of my 2 aros has never had a feeder, and the other hasn't since I got it. In no way am I being hypocritical by saying what he did was wrong.

Most people aren't complaining that a fish ate another fish, it's the fact that it was long, drawn out, recorded, and posted for the enjoyment of the sick (and possibly mentally unstable) creator.

And i do feel that the common gold fish is just as important as any other fish.. but i also think there are times as fish keepers that we are forced to feed either guppies or goldfish until we can get the wild fish off the live food.. and that has always been my goal and success .. because it makes my day when i acheive this.. i absolutely HATE it.. i also hate feeding meal worms or crickets or anything else LIVE.. it is barbaric.. but i had no choice with my rescued jag or when i first purchased my clown knife..it only took a week or two and i had them off.. so i do understand what Del was saying about goldfish vs. Arow.. it just hits us all alot harder to see a baby Arow used for sadistic reasons..

I should have clarified food chain.. because in the wild the food chain is completly different then the human pricing of the food chain.. And once again i cannot argue with you about one fish being worth more then the other.. i think all animals should be treated humanly at all times.. big or small.. favored or not favored.. special or not special.. pest or not.. all should be treated humanly..

It is the people who are posting "how can you do this to an aro" which I am targeting with my post, what is the difference between an Aro and a Goldfish?

I understand this, but when I see videos displaying fish cruelty I get upset as I know that these people will not get punished due the "it's just a fish" mentaility of organisations that contol animal cruelty (I am currently trying to get a LFS shut down with no luck). But then when I see fellow fish keeper who should have the same response as I do saying, all full posts;

-id like to see a 25" RTC in with those stupid pirs

-I wish I could smash their tank

-i think it's waste of an arowana, especially with the impact of the aquarium trade already on wild stocks.

I feel pretty disgusted but having said that, i assume the guy was intending the arowana to be a feeder fish. If he had fed them normal "feeders" like small gold fish, guppies, etc I don't think i'd have bat an eyelid

-why didnt he get a 40+ inch aro and see what will happen of course it has to be a bigga tank

-yeah piranahs are lame ... they are hellah skitish and only "buff" up when they are in groups

-fcuk piranahs! my jar eat those like nothing, ugly rubbish fish! what a waste, that silver aro couldve been a monster, but some low life had to buy it for some *** piranahs dumb loser, i wish i could smash/break that tank.


All this crap is aimed at killing a fish whch just did what came naturally, is BS. Its not the P's fault that their owner is a sick and twist freak and these people want to kill the fish, it's stupid.

I read those too and said why would they pick on the pirahna's.. i only blamed the one who did the video.. no fish are at fault here.. and why some posters say what they say could be just that they feel angry and frustrated after they watch the video and they are just expressing what first comes across their mind.. i am sure alot of the posters that write nagatives things towards the p's did not mean it.. just their reaction..
