I am considering setting up a tank with a shoal of P's. I think with some subdued lighting and black gravel, that they are gorgeous. They are what they are, and they are magnificent for it.
However, that little d!cked P.O.S. who filmed that would be well served to getting his ass kicked and kicked well. I agree with the poster who said "that's not a feeding". That was just some sadistic little P.O.S.
Having worked in Pitbull rescue, I am familiar with "their kind". They come in all races, shapes and sizes. The only constant is the warped mentality.

aside from showing the video as a form of entertainment (which would be what the issue is all about)

I didn't watch it but it sounds like whoever made that video deserves to be fed to his piranhas.

do you not understand that there are goldfish fanatics that are just as passionate about goldfish as we are with silvers?

Well I can only speak for myself, but what I'm trippen on (trippen hardcore really,heck I'm practically shroomin balls here) is the fact that it was a young arowana put into a tank not for feeding,as I have personally previously stated, but simply to be killed for entertainment,and a very slow death at that.
Even if those baby P's end his life immediately after that vid ends (they never do show its actual death) its torturous demise has already been drug out too long.
I would even go so far as to take it to a slightly sarcastic extreme and say that for all we know that guy nets that aro back out to regrow its finnage to a certain extent so he can have another go at swimming with the P's on a later date.....
In the end,I will add that I bet this thread would still have a lot of heated aquarists but end up quite a few pages shorter had that arowana at least dissapeared completely into the belly of a much larger fish.I still cant agree with using aro's as feeders,but at least then it would have been alot closer to something that resembles humane.
