Wondering why a python would help you get the correct temp. water to the tank??? If the water is correct from the facut it does not matter how you get the water to the tank....am I missing something?
My sink has a hot/cold so I can adjust the temp to the proper temp to match my tank.

If it is being done from the sink, you would be able to adjust the temperature
Exactly!

errr, as long as the water source you are using to start the siphon on the python is lower then the tank, you can turn it off once the siphon starts and not waste any more water, itll just take an extra couple minutes
If this was the case that would help. But my siphon method owns the python's siphon any day.

same concept as sucking on the tube, except your faucet does it for you

also if your tank is say on the 3rd floor, and your using the hose outside, you get great suction

I guess my question is where were you getting the water from when you killed your fish?? I know how a sink works and a python....but how were not able to the correct temp. water before the python.

If your sink is too high that will lower the pressure you get with the python. You can empty a tank that's say on the same level as the faucet but if the faucet is higher it will be slow or not work at all.

I just gravity syphon to empty it, and fill with the python. I don't need a lot of pressure with a sand substrate anyway, and I don't waste any water that way.

I don't follow instructions with mine. If I assume correctly you have the tap running and the running water through that little plastic adapter thing causes a difference in pressure which sucks up air or water.

As CTU stated just gravity siphon it like I do. Your best bet is if you have some sort of drain or perhaps a toilet thats at a lower level ( my drain is about 2 feet lower ) it will work perfectly. If you don't, just get a big bucket, might take longer but in the end its worth it.

I either stick mine in the tub drain (all the way in so there's not fish turds in the actual bathtub lol) or run it outside.

Before I purchased the python, I would add prime to my tank then add water from the garage with a hose. I live in Ohio so the water temperature from the garage was really cold. It turn my tank temp to about 65 degrees or a little lower. My geo's were turning belly up and I scoped up all 10 of them and put them in my feeder tank with had the same temp as my display tank, 80 degrees. Luckily they snapped out of it and I did not KILL any.
I hope you understand where I got the water now before I purchased the python to control my water temp.

My tank with the suction tube at the bottom of the tank is lower then my sink so I dont have the luxury of a gravity siphon. I can siphon in a bucket but not my sink because of gravity. This is why I do what I posted.

I just siphon the water out of a window and then use a pump to send it from a bucket in the bathtube into the tank works great cost me about 15 dollars to get all the parts, and its quick.
