Anyone use chantix to quit smoking?

Have you tried cold turkey yet? I think if you really want to quit then miracle drug or not you can. There's also this smokeless cigarette thing they sell in malls that my boss is using, but I think that's similar to gum and the patch because it still gives you nicotine, and it's pretty expensive.
I ended up on a 72 hour hold at alta bates hospital in Berkley because I was prescribed effexor for "Rage issues" A guy hit me and I beat the hell out of him seems fair. Any ways yes effexor made me try to commit suicide (Twice actually when they were titrating me off it I made another attempt and somehow lived ). I don't think I am going to try chantix. As an alternative, I did acupuncture a few years ago to quite smoking.
I must say that it did work. I stayed off smoking for four years, started again but that was for a different reason.
It does take some will power, but it did help me get started. After my sessions I didn't even feel like picking one up.

zyban takes no willpower at all. it gets to the point in the 2nd week of smoking with the zyban that you dont feel the need to smoke and dont even miss it. i didnt even substitute with food like many do with regular NRT.
i went from 30 a day on the first day i took the zyban to 10 by the end of 7 days then 3 by the end of the 14th day then i just stopped cos i wasnt enjoying them anymore.

over here we have a nicorette inhalator. its like a plastic cigg and u put in nicotine cartridges that last half an hour. but once u have had a few tokes on it u cant taste it. so i ent up leaving the same one in most of the time. i did stop though...until i went out drinking, which is why i didnt go out for 3 months after i stopped. then i did and it was 'just when i drink i will smoke' then 'il just keep a pack in my cupboard in case'...now im on a diet lol.
tbh the best thing that made me stop was bein pregnant, having a fear of sick and everytime i smoked it made me sick, didnt mix well.....though i spose that solution doesnt help u much lol

The doctor, if this is prescribed meds, or any other material out that you could have looked at? It seems to me that you have pre existing problems and this drug could have finished you off. I would suggest you put yourself under a doctor's care, the old fish board will not replace a physicians advice.
heard very bad things about chantix... the one guy who was telling me about it and swore by it was a little screwy in the head... go for it the old fashioned will power way...
