I honestly do not see $30,000 in inventory there. It looks to me like someone trying to recoup their losses after finding out that the fish industry is not all that lucrative. The place was not set up with costs in mind. They wasted a lot of money everywhere. The plumbing is an overkill. Inch and a half plumbing going into the tanks is a waste because half inch plumbing (pressure side) will supply those tanks. Additionally, factory drilled tanks are expensive. Japanese tanks can be had for a dollar a gallon (wholesale). They can be drilled on location for pennies on the dollar vs. paying someone else to do it. On top of that, my lowest cost for an overflow that would be suitable on those tanks is about two dollars. Anyway, the money that they have hanging from the ceiling and under the tanks is money flushed down the toilet. The sale of the tanks (and equipment) will not equal thirty grand.
For what it is worth, I just bought 120 gallons of breeder tanks for forty bucks. My new breeder pal is working on a lot deal of 30 gallon tanks. We are looking at about ten cents a gallon.
I agree....Mostly on the Asian dollar a gallon thing, and also the piping....First impression was the amount of 10-20g tanks that filled the room...Then I saw those ponds on cinder blocks...And o yeah, a couple of 60's maybe....The more and more I look at what tanks are shown in the picture, the more I feel it's a rip off...I can easily go to my lfs and bulk order 50 10g's for $200, or order 10 100g's for $800....I'm not in this to make a buck...Just look at the deals I am hooked up with for being a Keeper, not a seller....Imagine the deals if I chose to be professional seller?!?!?
you do the paperwork. I'll play with the fish. Yeah... That's it.
but it looks like they went overkill on their building and realestate in general never had shot at gettin any fish in there.I think that the live rock and coral cloning would have made some money 2 lfs in my area are into coral clones and thats where the new money in the hobby is coming and going.I dont know anything abuot corals and just a little about saltwater fish but they take mother coral cut it up grow it out and it makes alot of money if i could i would turn all that equipment into coral cloning tanks what do u guys think would u make a million?
