anyone wash there hands after they work with there tanks?

I have tested my tank water for coliform bacteria using the Colilert 2000 enzyme substrate method, a 100ml sample would max out the test (2000+) positives.
When I worked as a microbiologist at a drinking water plant, finding 1 positive in the finished water would set up a crisis mode.

I look at it the same as I look at washing my hands when I use the restroom.....I'm more likely to wash before, I'm more worried about what goes on than what comes off.

I wipe my arms off with a towel, but unless I'm going to eat right afterwards or am cleaning a very dirty filter I don't bother, I figure that by exposing myself to the germs I'm helping build my immune system.

I agree with strengthening the immune system. Its really not healthy to wash your hands every 5 minutes and disinfect everything all the time. Your doing more damage than good. This is why people die from the flue and stuff, a very weak immune system.
