anyone wash there hands after they work with there tanks?

I have tested my tank water for coliform bacteria using the Colilert 2000 enzyme substrate method, a 100ml sample would max out the test (2000+) positives.
When I worked as a microbiologist at a drinking water plant, finding 1 positive in the finished water would set up a crisis mode.
creepy info.

I just dry my hands with my fish towel (yup I have a special towel for that lol).

Is it even possible to get sick from fish water? I thought I read somewhere that there's no aquarium parasites or bacteria that can harm people.

There probably are a few things that you can get if you put your hand to your mouth. There are a lot of aquatic bacteria and who knows how they get there.

ingesting bacteria or wound contamination, can both infect humans and animals.
can't say I have been consistently guarded though :-/

I do it before and after. Before coz of the chemicals I may have put on like soap, lotion or hand sanitizer. After because the water may be dirty for like uneaten food and fish poop.
