AP12 rhom growout tank

I've only ever seen 1 Nano cube set up I'd even consider. My large LFS has this set up as a marine biotope with liverock and coral frags w/ 2 small clown fish and I've always considered this the best use of these expenssive space savers. Mind you @ 12 gal. this is no set up for Marine newbies.
If it were me and the info being givin' (all over the web) says nothing about Piranha and Nano cubes - I'd sell the Nano and use the money for a 55-75 gal. set up. I'm afraid that even with all the niffty gagets associated with Nano cubes the Nitrates produced by Piranha in 12 gallons of water would quickly build to unsafe and unmanagable levels. @ 1" a Piranha may be able to survive and remain heathy for a few short months - after that it will be an uphill battle with Ich and Cottonwool.

I am going to probably fill all my back chambers with sponges, is this a good idea? In the past I usually run an aquaclear filter so I am not what to put in the back.

as for cheap bio media, nylon pot scrubber works great.

I wont be getting a bigger tank for a few years and when that happens it will be a biocube 29. The reason the cube tanks are good is because they have enough lighting for most plants and they are deeper so the fish can turn around easier.

I either go with one spilospleura 2-3" or 12 exodons and I think that once I get the BC29 it will make an awesome display tank for a spilo.

what kind of filter are you using? not too sure what you mean by back chamber, if you can post some pic of your filter that would help
