Sounds like a good plan except for breeders.always a chancy thing with new world cichlids could kill a tankmate or get themselves killed defending the young.Go with your first list and add a pleco

I think i am going to add 2 male cons. I dont really like the look of plecos and they poop alot.
Yay I finally went to the lfs to pick up my tank! 
Its acrillic(sp?) and its 72L x 18D x 24H. My dad and I finally got the stand up the stairs, it was HEAVY.
As you can see it still has most of the protection film on it and it has 2 corner overflows. I also put my undergravel jets in. The stand, the wet/dry and the jets were all diy.
I cant fill it for another month because I have school for another week then we are going to be gone for 3 weeks. So thats a bummer, but I will be on vacation thinking about it.

I paid for %75, it was most of my savings over the last couple years. The part he paid was part birthday, part good grades gift. Now that I look at it I really need a job.
Not to make you nervous, but are you (or your parents) worried at all about the weight given that it's upstairs?

Well me and my dad broke out the house plans and figured that the tank sits on some major support beam, somthing called a bering wall i think? So neway he is %100 that the floor can support it so I guess I am just going to trust him. I myself am kinda nervous but Im just gonna try not to think about it.

nooo nnooo blackbelt veja have the potential to go killer. keep an oscar & a male convict ( if they don't breed convicts get 6 inches) the tiger or an albino oscar will add liveliness to the tank. the whole group you originaly posted will be ok just get some medium sized plecos or other catfish 7 all will be fine. Start with juvies. you will have a picture perfect tank in 2yrs. when everyone grows up.
