I was actually the one who was supposed to be buying the tank. I was trading my 360 tall +$400 cash for it. drove there made the trade had it in my truck heading home and they backed out on the deal and had me come back. they gave me $250 for my troubles. they backed out saying my tank wasn't structurally sound enough to resell in good conscience.

wow thats a low blow I guess, I did notice the same marks on the tank but it was moved to a different location/stand, if you look in picture A you can see the stand is resting on a pallet rack picture B shows its sitting on more of a desk/TV cabinet etc but the big scratch on the right side of the tank is very visible.

reminds me when I first started in this hobby paid 1000$ for a 5x2x2 with a normal pine stand( no fancy cabinet etc) then a hydro prime 30 was going to cost me 400$ each and I was told I needed 2-3. after almost having a heart attack I decided to check some online prices as most items online are much cheaper when I found the canister listed for 100$ boy was I mad, so I checked any online site that sold tanks and found they go for about 400-500, Never gone back sense then was even a bit unsure of letting him deliver the tank too my house.

I do understand being small shops they have to price up a bit, but at the same time they should still go to a reasonable price 1000$ price up for a tank which they most likely would have made money off you for 2400$ is just plain dirty, I dont think some shops understand that if they respect there customers they will be more happy to come back, I only use one online site now as I get a flat 20% off anything and one in store shop for equipment which is 1 hour away but well worth the travel as they dont try to stuff you around for money + the service is great another thing I find lacking in this hobby. anyways blabbing a bit here xD

I'm not a trash talker or confrontational at all, but when someone tries to pull shady moves on me, he will soon realize that I will call him on it and put him on blast. I have friends that are on this site, and became friends with a lot of members here because of this site; I just don't want to see anyone taken advantage of.

Just got an email from Alex at Aquaarts:
"Jeffrey,

Thanks for your interest in an aquarium from AquArt Aquariums.

We have a used 96 x 48 x 24'' tall for $1800 plus the actual shipping. ..."

I wonder if ???

Those1-out of curiosity, did they inform you that this tank was a leaker? And its funny that they are selling it for $1800 now...that's what I generously offered...ohh well....

they had not told me. i drove the 2 hours there to find that they had fixed a leak in the tank. I had also asked how long/ much of a guarantee they offered against the work they had done on the tank and was informed they offered none on a used tank. I ended up having them work on the 360 for me so that is was a wide rather then a tall. they charged me $350 to cut 3 new holes and used the cut outs to patch the original top holes. For that price I was thinking they were going to polish the new fron piece of acrylic which was the original bottom. However this is not the case.
