EMP 400 rock out with their c@<K out!!!!!!!! Love em!!!!!

you can alternate one at a time either putting new cartridges in (4 total) or rinsing them off because there are 4 without messing with the entire filter.........I used to only have ac110's..........now all i have is EMP 400 on my "smaller" tanks...........

I Was once for the Emperors like it was my job, but my last 4 or 5 I've had kept draining completely when the power went out and would not re-prime themselves.
Eff that.
Aquaclears have not had that problem.

I think it's great how ac's don't require filter pads replaced and the lifetime warranty is unbeatable. i own an ac 50 and it's quiet and soooo easy to maintain !

yeah that happens to me to if I do more than 20% water change all the water drains out of the emp even though the water level does not drop below the intake,and it will not re-prime either I have to pour water into it and sooth it with my sexy voice:
"come on,come on baby you can do it"

But aside from all their problems they so have their place!!!!!

heres mine,setup with no cartridges....just two peices of felt covering 12 jumbo pot scrubbies (the ones almost as big as your hand).

then on the other side you can see my AC pulling its mechanical filtration maneuvers......

Best media versatality/volume.

Quiet, dependable and inexpensive.

I run mine with 1.5 sponges, sponges do double duty as mech/bio and atop the sponges I have biochem-stars...
But my AC's are souped up, I've modified'em with spraybar driven bio-wheels.

The best of the best makes Chiles the best HOB's ever to hang on'a tank!
