So i decided to go with a second (fluval)aquaclear 110, had to go to 2 stores to get one because the first one was shattered on both sides. Took about 30g of water out of the tank and all my rocks to move the tank forward a half inch so the top would fit but its well worth it. I will post pics shortly and thanks for all the help. To the person who was talking about a fluval c5 here is what they had to say about that when i asked "unfortunately we have no plans to come out with a C5 series."

Good choice....great filter the filter i believe all other hob filters are judged by. I'm just one for new technology if it seems well engineered.in the case of the C i do believe it will be Hagens or Fluvals hob at some point. I havn't heard them admit a C5 to a single person and I've searched the web. Good luck with your new 110 it is truely a great filter. And thanks for the interesting question to put some debate in your thread.
